Rose de Mai

Rose de Mai (Mai) is French for "May," and is a May rose. This Rosa Centifolia rose is grown abundantly in Grasse, France.


Considered the world's perfume capital, it is extracted using solvents to produce a fragrant oil that blends well with other floral scents, such as ylang-ylang, geranium, chamomile, and bergamot, which are used in perfumes. Traditionally, this essential oil was used to smooth, moisturize, and reduce wrinkles on the skin. It was also used to relieve stress and migraines. It's cool, calming, yet alluring, and luxurious scent has led to its use in perfumes.
