Narcissus

Narcissus is a unique flowering plant with a bulbous stem. It typically blooms in spring. The flowers are yellow or white, but can also be orange, red, and pink.

They resemble trumpets with long, light green leaves. Many species have different names, including daffodils, coronas, and narcissus.

Found in southwestern Europe, North Africa, and China, they symbolize good fortune, acceptance, awakening, and hope.

It is said to have originated in Persia. Narcissus flowers are extracted with solvents, producing a highly valuable essential oil. 500 kilograms of narcissus flowers yield only 1 kilogram of liquid to produce 300 grams of essential oil. Narcissus oil has a leafy scent mixed with jasmine. It is used in perfumes, and the Arabs have historically used it in perfumery. Narcissus oil is also used to treat baldness, epilepsy, and hysteria, and is also used in cosmetics such as lipstick and soap.
